2019 and Windows File Explorer still doesn't tell me how large a folder is

Can we please have a windows file explorer that tells me how large a folder is without me having to actually open said folder to view "x files, x megabytes" in size?

Also, why can't we have a file explorer that shows and allows changes to a file's comments. Like the tool FileMeta(x64).msi (https://github.com/Dijji/FileMeta/releases) does? Shouldn't this be built-in to Windows?

Thanks,

Andy

Xbox App now allows you to directly share and download clips

This was one of the most-requested features.
It's no secret that sharing game clips isn't exactly easy on Xbox One. First you have to record the footage, then edit it in Upload Studio, and then post it on Xbox Live. There are websites out there that allow you to download your saved game clips to your computer, but the process is still not that user friendly. Microsoft has been working on a way to improve this, and it looks like those efforts are finally producing results.

Application to be installed on a Surface Pro(3+)

We have built a working MSI/application for desktop . The client is requesting feasibility to install on a few Surface Pro (3+) devices and I'm not knowledgeable about how this may be different. We can create appx, but we really want to have to avoid the store. Must we install through the store.? We also don't have or intend a MDM solution as we are an outside contractor and won't have access to this sort of thing. Is side loading the only option? Or is there a better approach?

For the iOS devices we can use enterprise account and install by a single link to our servers by passing store and mdm , just a link. Is there something similar for windows?

Thanks

Sunless Skies is a fantastic space RPG... with trains?

Sunless Skies is a wild, mysterious RPG that blends together a plethora of traits from multiple genres. The result is something unique, engaging, and incredibly fun.

Imagine this: on the cusp of the 20th century, the British Empire takes to the cosmos. Using unique flying locomotives, its people set out to explore the galaxy and carve out a new frontier for the future. Pirates, hostile life forms, and a handful of different factions inhabit this universe — but most important of all are the Judgements, special god-like beings that take the form of stars. Something is wiping them out, though, and you, as a captain of your own crew and space train, have the choice of investigating their deaths, using their downfall as an opportunity to expand British control, or simply ignoring it all and paving the way for your own future.
That, in summary, is the experience that Sunless Skies offers. And while it may seem convoluted and insane, the reality is that Sunless Skies offers one of the most engaging and expansive role-playing game (RPG) experiences in all of gaming.

Lenovo's IdeaPad 730S is a lean 13-inch notebook with strong performance

Announced as the Yoga S730 and still branded that way in some markets, Lenovo's IdeaPad 730S is a 13-inch Ultrabook that delivers modern hardware inside of an impressively slim and light aluminum body. This traditional notebook only gets better when you get a look at the $720 starting price, which puts it in the same arena as some of the competition's bulkier budget models that cut corners to keep costs down. Instead of attempting to cram a load of extra features in on the cheap — like touch display, pen support, and IR camera — Lenovo has whittled this device down to what's most important for a lot of people, and the result is a refined device that pretty much nails everything it set out to accomplish.
Lenovo loaned us a review unit of the IdeaPad 730S with Intel Core i5-8265U processor (CPU), 8 GB of DDR3 RAM, and a 256 GB PCIe solid-state drive (SSD), which costs about $800 at Lenovo.

Let's be honest, the Anthem "VIP Demo" didn't go according to plan. There were a slew of server issues and other technical problems. For hours Xbox One players couldn't even log in, and when they did, they encountered horrendous performance even on Xbox One X. Since then, many outlets have stated that the builds they played were much more polished, but it seems like a lot of gamers are cautious about BioWare's latest venture when they should be excited.

Should I upgrade from the i5 2500k @4.7 GHz?

I've been rocking the 2500k overclocked to 4.7ghz (a overclock champion!) for many years now, along with 8gb of DDR3 1600mhz, a nvidia 1070 and a 950 Evo SSD. Since the performance improvements on the CPUs launched since then have been small between each generation I've been delaying the decision to upgrade since I'm going to need new CPU, new motherboard and new RAM, which is a 500 euros investment, at least.
Did anyone here went from an overclocked 2500k to the AMD 2700x or to the Intel 9700k, for instance? Are there noticeable performance differences in real world usage?

Cheers :)

How well does the Surface Book 2 hold up after a year?

It's been a year since I got my hands on my Surface Book 2. I've put it through a lot, and it's still ticking.
The Surface Book 2 is by no means a cheap PC. With the 15-inch model hitting over $3000 for its maxed-out configuration, a big question of value hangs over it, particularly when so many other PC manufacturers are offering some truly great alternatives.
I currently have the 15-inch 512GB SSD model, which incorporates 16GB of RAM, quad-core Core i7 processing, and a discrete GTX 1060 GPU. I moved from the original Surface Book to a Razer Blade 15 because I found the limitations on the internals of the OG Book to be too restrictive. However, I found myself really missing the Surface Book's from factor, with a 3:2 aspect ratio, and a digitizer touch screen for inking.
I've already written about what I'd like to see in a Surface Book 3, but I thought I'd answer some questions about how the Book 2 is holding up after a year of daily abuse from yours truly, across gaming, general work, and other use cases.

Next Xbox family to use Arcturus GPU NOT Navi. Rumor.

Lots of rumors and leaks for Xbox 2 over January. The latest is a supposed very early devkit screen. Showing a possible side Cache off die EDRam of 1GB.

On top of that the most interesting part is not Navi, but the Arcturus GPU. A whole generation ahead of Navis feature set.

https://www.reddit.com/r/xboxone/com..._arcturus_gpu/

The very reliable YouTuber has also given reasons as to why this particular screens hot of the devkit shows 22gb ram. As it could be in a mode for Lockhart as opposed to Anaconda. He is expecting Anaconda devkit to use 48gb ram.

Those unaware devkit often use around double the ram of the actual retail console. So it's feasible it's Lockhart around 11-12 gb GDDR6.

Of course it could be fake. Or even early and subject to change.

If Storage sense isn't for you, you can disable the feature using these steps.
Storage sense on Windows 10 is a feature designed to monitor your device and free up space automatically. When your computer is running low on space, the feature will delete junk files, such as temporary system files, items you sent to the recycle bin, and many other items to make room for more important files.
Although Storage sense can be useful to optimize space automatically, it's not a feature for everyone, and for this reason, Windows 10 includes options to disable the feature in at least two ways using the Settings app and Registry.

Switchblade for PC is an amazing free-to-play MOBA with vehicles

Switchblade, a new free-to-play vehicle MOBA, is live on PC. Is it worth your time? Here's what we think.

One of my favorite things to do in video games has always been to drive combat vehicles. Ever since getting into the Warthog for the very first time in Halo: Combat Evolved, I knew that I had found my match made in heaven.
You can imagine, then, how intrigued I was at Switchblade, an up-and-coming vehicular multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game in Early Access that recently went free-to-play on Steam. Interested to see how it blended armored warfare with teamwork strategy, I booted it up — and I wasn't disappointed.
