Surface Go Lockscreen - Need an app to overlay a "If Found, please contact..." message

I took it for granted how on my Android devices that I have the lockscreen display a message "If found, please contact..." my name, phone number, email. There are still a few good souls out there that will contact you and help you reunite you with your beloved piece of tech.

However, besides modifying a wallpaper, I haven't figured out a way to do the same on the Surface Go. Any suggestions of an app or overlay (like how the Weather and time are displayed on the lockscreen), please?

Thanks for your help.

Where’s Kingdom Hearts: The Story So Far for Xbox?

I am genuinely excited to see Xbox fans getting Kingdom Hearts 3 next year, but it has been bugging me to no end You can't also play the first two games there. PlayStation fans have gotten multiple re-releases on the games, including an HD pack of all the games just this week, but because licensing or whatever that same experience can't or won't come to Xbox.

It seems like obvious money left on the table, you know? There are going to be people on Xbox who have never played these games before, and would totally fall in love with the franchise in time for 3 to come out. Instead, I'm a little concerned the Xbox audience isn't going to give it the love it deserves because so many won't want to start so late in the story.

At the time of SP3, MSFT used an ad campaign that compared the pro to the Mac, much like the pc vs Mac ones before.

This is an example.

I think it was their most successful ad campaign to date. That's how SP3 got popular IMHO.

They should redo that this holiday season. I think there are enough advantages to the latest macs/ipads to highlight that they can run with it again.

How can I tether my MacBook Air to my Nokia Lumia 535 via an ethernet cable?

I've just bought a USB 2.0 OTG Micro-B to 10/100 adapter in order to tether my MacBook Air to my Windows Nokia Lumia 535 phone, but without success.

I'm using Mac OS 10 version 10.9.5 and first tried the rig without installing Plugable's zip driver, and then tried having installed it – still no success.

The message beside 'status' in Networks (System Preferences) says that the Thunderbolt Ethernet is plugged in but may not be connected to a device, or the device at the other end may not be responding.

I can't see any kind of option on my phone to connect via ethernet, but I've read that an ethernet connection can usually be made with a phone even though industry people often say that it cannot.

I'm using a Thunderbolt>Ethernet adapter and a new Ugreen gold-plated ethernet cable and have double checked the functionality of both of these pieces by successfully plugging into a router and accessing the internet that way, so I know that the problem isn't there.

Is anyone able to advise?

I'm electromagnetic hypersensitive so have to go to great lengths to avoid Wifi, Bluetooth and certain other EMFs. I live out in the country and need a wired solution for my work.

Many thanks.

While both devices were an improvement over previous Windows phones, they did very little to stand out from the rest of the market. Sure, they had great cameras for the time, but any positives in the hardware at launch were quickly overshadowed by buggy software, most of which did not get resolved until several months into the product's lifecycle.

What smartphone to buy?

So, the Phonetober fest is almost ending and I am in the market for a new smartphone. I am one of those in the minority who like smaller smartphones. I prefer to use them one-handed most of the time (my right thumb is pretty much exhausted most of the time). I was a Windows phone user, then an android person for a year (One+2), and for the past 2 years I am on iOS. One of the reasons I moved from Android to iOS was that most Android phones were getting ridiculously large for one-handed use and the user experience wasn't up to par (also the update situation). I wasn't too happy/still am not with Samsung's heavy skinned Android versions. The fluid (yet boring) iOS was like a breath of fresh air-coupled with regular updates directly from Apple and smaller size offerings (iPhone 6,7,8), made it an easy switch.
I am at the point where I am bored of iPhone 6s and want an upgrade. The "affordable" offering from Apple, the iPhone XR, isn't a one-hand friendly phone. I went to BestBuy and took a look at pixel 3- which was great in my opinion- but slightly dated-looking. I am confused. Wish there was a third option (you know what I mean)! Full disclosure-I am not invested in iOS or Google services/apps-use Microsoft and Amazon services/apps on my device.

Would love to hear your opinion on what you think is the best small-medium sized phone available in the market for a former Windows phone user.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 6 and previous iterations try to combine the best of tablets and full Windows 10 PCs. While the idea mostly works, the consensus is that Surface is not as good at being a tablet as an Apple iPad. Some of that is due to hardware, some of it is about the software.
One area that can be improved is touch responsiveness. This function can be achieved through a simple registry change on the Surface Pro (any generation) or any Windows 10 PC with touch support, like the new Samsung Galaxy Book2.

Microsoft Teams for Windows 10 S is dead

Microsoft is killing its Teams app for Windows 10 S, meaning S mode users will have to use the website from now on.
For some reason, the Microsoft Teams app on Windows 10 S is separate from the normal app for Windows 10. Because of this, Microsoft has to maintain two separate apps, one for Windows 10 without S mode, and the other for Windows 10 S. Or rather, that used to be the case.

Sitting down with Microsoft's Chris Charla to look back on ID@Xbox

ID@Xbox Director, Chris Charla
Microsoft announced that ID@Xbox hit a huge milestone. We take a look back at the program, and forward into the future with ID@Xbox head Chris Charla.
Around the launch of the Xbox One, it felt like Microsoft's approach to independent developers was under attack from every direction. Famously, Jonathan Blow of Braid fame went on the record to say Microsoft treated independent developers "very badly," in an interview with Wired, in a piece that claimed self-publishing indie devs were "fleeing" from Microsoft, specifically to Sony and its PlayStation platform. Fast forward five years, and now, nobody can really claim any of this remains true.
Microsoft just announced that now, over 1,000 independently-published games have hit Xbox One and Windows 10, working with Redmond's ID@Xbox program.

Recently we got the opportunity to speak with ID@Xbox lead Chris Charla to discuss the past, present, and future of independent development at Microsoft and Xbox.

How do I gather windows on an extended screen setup?????

I have a 3 screen extended desktop setup. One of the screens is a projector. If I have a browser open on the projector screen and I turn off the projector, I cant launch the browser from the other screens. A new tab or window opens it the projector screen which is off. Is there a way of gathering windows to see them all ? My only solution is to unplug the vga to the projector. This puts the browser back on my latop screen and I'm good to go. Would rather not have to pull out the VGA everytime.

Why does windows have to update when I turn the computer on? Why can't it wait until I turn it off?

Are these updates so important that they have to do it right now? I've 40 minutes to spend on the computer and now I'm waiting 20 minutes for the updates to finish.

Yes, I haven't used the computer in a couple weeks.

What's wrong with doing it when I turn the damn thing off? I'm using the computer (other computers, not this one) because I need that computer right now. Not in 20 minutes.

Can a stylus and touch screen be used at the exact same time on a Notebook 9 Pro?

Hey guys,
I have purchased a Notebook 9 Pro, and when I work in Photoshop, I would like with one hand to be working on something with the stylus such as an illustration, and with the other hand pinching and zooming around the canvas. I went into the settings for 'Pen & Windows Ink' and unchecked 'ignore touch input when using my pen.' That did not seem to solve the problem. As it stands, I have to constantly lift my stylus if I want to use my other hand to adjust the canvas.

*
Is there any way I can do both of these actions at the same time?
*
What way(s) can I solve this problem of needing to do both of these things at the same time?
*
If this is impossible to do on the Notebook 9 Pro, would a feature like this be available on any other devices that come to mind?

If anyone has any thoughts, I will gladly hear them. Thank you all for your help.

OnePlus 6T

So I've been waiting for my Lumia 830 to die so I can finally make the switch to Android (maybe I should remove the case - four years and going strong!). Every time I find "the one" I find something that's a deal breaker. I thought the new OnePlus announced today might be it. But no wireless charging, something that I've become addicted to, going back ten years, all the way to my Palm Pre. I think maybe I'll quit stressing and just buy the Nokia 7.1 and forget it.
