Satya Nadella vs John Sculley

The year was 1985. Steve Jobs was doing was he did best. He was busy making new roads. Unfortunately, the best products are not always the best selling products and this reflected in their balance sheet. Soon, the board of directors marched in, drove him out of the company and killed many products.

Today, when I look at Microsoft, I feel that history is repeating itself. Its hard to ignore the similarities between Sculley and Nadella.

From removal of key employees (like Steven Elop) to killing of major products like Windows Phones and Kinect, and finally launching of ambitious but poorly implemented ideas like Continuum, everything makes me feel that Nadella and Sculley are perhaps two very similar people separated by time. What do you think?
