Microsoft further embraces open source by joining Open Invention Network

The move brings Microsoft in line with other industry giants in opening their patents to protect Linux and other open source software.

Microsoft today announced it is joining the Open Invention Network (OIN), a community of companies whose aim is to shield Linux and other open source software from patent aggressors.
