There has been discussions about this. But I think I can pretty much confirm this to be true.
After updating my brand new Surface book to Creators Update, Edge suddenly started using alot of CPU. Causing my Book to get warm very fast. Even without running anything else than one simple website. The fans were speeding up, and it drained battery noticably faster.
So today I tried to reset Windows back to the previous version. With the built in tool. And it totally fixed everything. Wierd how Microsoft has not adressed this in any way.
