Why does Windows 10 take much longer to load since tyhe last update?

I have noticed since the last update, the loading screen takes much longer to load and become active. Since the last update I now get a good few seconds of the orange screen saying "wait" before the load screen and screen saver comes up, (prior to the update the transition was almost seamless,) it also then takes more time for the embedded questions to materialise before I can finally put in my password and get on with what I want to get on with.
