*NEW* Pen issue

Hi Ladies & Gents,

I haven't posted anything negative in here for quite some time which is usually a good thing.

I purchased the original Surface Book back in 2017 and have now come to replace the surface pen as I lost the original it came with.

I baught the new surface pen, pairs fine & works fine.....UNTIL the pen goes to sleep after 5 or so minutes. the eraser button will no longer work until it is unpaired and repaired...then repeat.

Ive tried updating drivers to no success problem persists.

It is 100% not the pen as it works fine on the other newer surface models I have in my home.

So my question is, does anyone know if the new surface pen is not compatible with the original surface book??

If anyone has any solution or ideas please fire them over.

Thanks,

Jay

Surface book 2 : Touch screen not working on windows, but working in UEFI

Hello,
I asked the same question last year, but being very busy with my job, I could not follow up.
It will be a year now that the touch screen of my surface book 2 15 "no longer works once logged in Windows.

Here is a summary of the situation and what I did tried:

1- I reset the PC in full version for recycling that day.
2- I do not have the driver named Touch Screen HID
3- I read on the internet that the problem could come from the Intel Precise Touch Device driver. However, I do not have this one either in my device list.
4 - The touch is not damaged and works very well in UEFI.
5- I tried to reinstall the driver and firmware pack provided by Microsoft.

What can I still do? If the concern is software (obviously), it should be solvent without having to go through the device warranty is not it?
Thank you for your help,

Best Regards,

Adoptable storage on Surface Book 2?

Tropico 6 on PC is one of the best city-building simulators, ever

Surprisingly, Tropico is one of the most engaging city builders I've ever played.

Have you ever wanted to know what it's like to be a dictator, ruling over a populace with an iron fist as you sit at the head of a banana republic? If so, Tropico 6, a brand new city-building simulator, will be right up your alley. Set in a fictional, miniature island nation known as Tropico, the game puts you in the shoes of "El Presidente," and your goal is to turn the tropical rainforests and sandy beaches into a thriving empire.
With its surprising amount of depth, excellent polish, great presentation, and smooth performance, Tropico 6 has ultimately become my new favorite title to go to whenever I want to play a city builder.

Buy one while you can.
The Netgear Nighthawk R6700 dual-band Wi-Fi router is down to $69.99 on Amazon. This router has been selling for $90 since last year and was going for as much as $120 before that. The temporary drop to $70 is a match for its lowest ever. This is an Amazon Lightning Deal, and these deals usually only last for a very brief amount of time. This one in particular has about six hours left, and it's currently around 45% claimed. So it could sell out before the timer runs out, but either way you need to act fast to save money.

Surface Book 2 signing into services while closed

First off, thank you for your help!

I have a new Surface Book 2. Very happy. i7, 16GB RAM, dGPU. A total beauty.

However, two issues bug me:
1. I use TeamViewer for my work. After my work I put my SB2 in my backpack and place it on a table in my flat. Nothing moves and no pressure points on the Pen or the on/off-Button. A few times in the evening, sometimes 1-2 times, sometimes 3-5 times, I see a notification popup on my gaming PC that my SB2 "has just signed into TeamViewer". It is online in TeamViewer. Now that I am writing this I realize I havent tried connecting and see what I see. But its definitely online. Then it goes offline again after a few minutes. This process repeats 1-5 times per evening. Sometimes more often, sometimes less often. Any ideas? When I finish my office-work, I simply CLOSE my SB2, I do not shut it down. It should be sleeping. Please let me know if you have any clue/tip.

2. (Unrelated to the topic title) - When I write e-mails or texts on my SB2, sometimes certain letters are "lost". This happens once or twice a week and I have no idea why. I am writing an e-mail and I need to correct every 3rd or 4th word because the SPACE-bar hasnt been recognized or certain letters are missing in the word. I DEFINITELY hit the space bar and wrote the word fully and correctly, I feel like I am literally losing inputs. Could this be a POWER issue? Some other thing? This happens even after making sure that the Base and Screen are properly connected. I seldomly disconnect and go into diff. modes so this shouldnt be it. Since the SB2 is only a month old, it shouldnt be dirt, either. Help me, oh Gods of this forum, show me your grace and knowledge!

Outward is a groundbreaking RPG with some unfortunate flaws

Outward has bold ideas, but it doesn't execute the fundamentals as well as it should.
In most role-playing games (RPGs) you start out the same way: You control a Chosen One-type character, and it's up to you to save the world from whatever universe-threatening force has risen to power. Outward, a new game on Xbox One, breaks that mold by putting you into the shoes of an everyday commoner. This adds a lot of unique and interesting challenges to the gameplay that help make Outward stand out amongst its peers, and in this regard, the game is excellent.
However, Outward is sadly held back by some issues with the fundamental aspects of gameplay, such as how combat feels and how the open world areas are designed. These problems don't ruin the game, but they definitely detract from the experience. Even so, though, Outward is a title that has a lot of really awesome concepts, and overall, it does more right than wrong.

This is where the true potential of video games as a medium is explored.

5 things I want to see in the next-gen Xbox 'Scarlett' consoles

Microsoft is working on new Xbox consoles. Not a great deal is known about them, but here's what I'd like to see.
Microsoft is working on new Xbox consoles, codenamed under "Scarlett". We've heard that there will be two console releases, one more powerful SKU codenamed Anaconda, and a less-powerful, more affordable SKU codenamed Lockhart. Very little is known about Microsoft's plans for the new consoles, besides the obvious spec bump, but there are plenty of things the current Xbox consoles struggle with that could easily (and some, not so easily) be improved.
Here are a five things I want to see Xbox and Microsoft tune up for the next big console generation.
