So after owning my 950XL for 16 months, my front camera stopped working and since I was out of warranty, my credit card company picked up the slack and paid for a new 950XL this April. I picked it up from the Microsoft store in Durham, NC, same store I bought the original one at. However, after a month of usage, I realized my Glance Screen had stopped working. So I go into the Microsoft store as usual for warranty since its a new purchase as far as they are concerned. To my surprise, they tell me warranty and service for the 950XL is no longer being handled by Microsoft and has been out-sourced to a company called B2X.
It has been less than 2 years since the launch of this phone. I'm not at all impressed with this change in warranty policy. If I'd known this at the time of purchase, I wouldn't have even bought the phone and would've probably got the HP Elite instead. I will keep this thread updated with my warranty experience with B2X. But losing the ability to work with Microsoft for my warranty needs has simply left a bad taste wrt purchasing any Microsoft device. As a person who enjoys Microsoft's offerings despite their shortcomings, this pill is hard to digest simply because it was something completely within Microsoft's control.
