Surface Pen won't sense with palm on screen in OneNote only

When I am using my Surface Pen, normally I am able to write with my hand resting on the screen - my settings are set to this. Despite that, often times I am still unable to write in OneNote - the Surface Pen cursor disappears. However, when I use the eraser side, the Pen is always detected and the cursor disappears.

This error only occurs some of the time. Is this a problem with OneNote?

I own a Surface Pro 4 with Windows 10, and I am using OneNote version 16001.11425.20094.0 (as displayed in Settings).
