My Windows 10 is going into sleep mode and I can't get it to wake up. How can I remedy this problem?

After a short time,my computer goes into sleep mode and when I move my mouse around or click on the screen, I can't get it to wake up. The screen is dark and I can barely see where the restart button is. I have to restart it to get my lit up screen back. How can I remedy this problem?
