Life Is Strange: Before the Storm getting bonus episode in 2018

Today, Deck Nine Games and Square Enix announced that the bonus episode of Life Is Strange: Before the Storm, called Farewell, will launch in early 2018.
Apart from that, Ashly Burch and Hannah Telle will be returning to play Max and Chloe. Fans of the series wanted their return for a long time and weren't too thrilled about other actors replacing them in Before the Storm. Burch has been working with the writing team to shape the dialogue.
"The team here were thrilled to hear the news that both Hannah Telle and Ashly Burch were able to come back together again to voice Max and Chloe", said Jeff Litchford, Vice President of Deck Nine Games. "We were really happy with Rhianna DeVrie's performance as Chloe in Before the Storm and the fan reaction to her has been great, she'll continue to work closely with us as part of a really close team we have created."

Fallout 4 achieves native 4K resolution on Xbox One X

Yesterday, Fallout 4 received an Xbox One X update but it wasn't immediately clear what resolution the game ran at.
The description just said "4K" support with "dynamic resolution". Many gamers assumed this was a checkerboarded or upscaled solution like the 1440p 30 FPS target on PlayStation 4 Pro. However, that's not the case and the game manages to achieve native 4K almost all the time on Xbox One X. Even when it dynamically scales down the resolution to maintain 30 FPS, it only does so on the horizontal axis so the game looks crisp even during these drops.

In the gaming industry, publishers and developers are always searching for new and unique concepts to draw players in and entice them to buy their products. While this isn't a bad thing, it does often cause some past games to be left behind, even if they're fan-favorites. MMS Image Compression Problem - Need Help

Been using my new Verizon enabled HP Elite X3 for about two weeks now and am loving it.

However, recently I received an image of a form with text on it via MMS and I can't read it at all. Zooming in doesn't help. Image was fine on my wife's phone so I know it's my phone with the issue. Didn't have this issue with my old 822.

I noticed my MMS APN wasn't set up so I did that and restarted but it didn't help.

How can I disable MMS image compression on my phone so I rsee the high quality images the same way they were sent to me? I've looked all over the Internet for a solution and can't find one. I would like to stick with the default MMS app if at all possible and not use Skype or third party messaging app.

Thanks.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds to run at 60 FPS on Xbox One X

When it comes to competitive multiplayer experience, frame rate is just as important as resolution because it makes the controls feel tighter and more responsive.
However, in a highly visual game like PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, even resolution is important because it's all about spotting your opponent from far away. Not only is the Xbox One X version of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds going to feature a higher resolution than the standard Xbox One, but it might also feature a higher frame rate if the developers aren't able to get it running at 60 FPS on the base unit. All of this information and more was revealed during an interview between GamesTM and the game's developers. WCCFtech compiled their responses.

Do you prefer in-your-face or understated gaming gear?

If you're perusing this forum, you're likely a fairly active PC gamer. And if you're an active PC gamer, you likely know that there are a lot of, shall we say ... "wacky-looking" gaming peripherals out there today. I'm thinking mice and keyboards that have nearly as many blinking lights as the Vegas Strip.

That's all fine and good, and clearly lots of folks love this stuff. But it's not for everyone. Personally, I definitely prefer the understated look. But that's just me. Are you a blinking-lights kind of gamer? Or a black-on-black sort of person? Why or why not? Taking it a step further, what are you favorite, and most unique, gaming gadgets?

What do you love/hate about the Surface Book 2 so far?

So I've had my 15-inch Surface Book 2 for more than a week now, and I've been working on it, along with two monitors connected via Surface Dock, every day. Overall, I'm very pleased with the purchase. I love the keyboard and trackpad when working away from my desk, battery life has been great, and performance has been buttery-smooth. The only things that I don't love about it (though I also wouldn't say I hate them) are the size and weight. I traveled with it last weekend, and it felt a like big flat rock in my bag. I'm coming from the Surface Pro, so part of that is just my perspective, I know. But I also use a MacBook Pro 15-inch on occasion (gasp!), and though the SB2 is only about 0.2 pounds heavier, it's significantly thicker. I'm not really complaining, and I know the form factor necessitates the larger size to an extent, but that's really the only complaint I have so far.

Do you have a new Surface Book 2? What do you love/like or hate/dislike about it?

Which phone to take to India.....??? Help me!

Hello,

I am going to a trip to India. I think most of India is 3G..but getting 4G

Should I take my HP Elite x3 Or Alacatel Idol 4s?

Elite
Pros - better features, size, build quality, dual sim, more LTE bands
Cons - size (can be too big), don't have a grippy case

Idol
Pros - better camera, have grippy case, size, front flash
Cons - slower camera, fewer LTE bands.

Love to hear your suggestions to those who have traveled there or who have these phones.

FYI - I used to take my Nokia's (95, N8, 930) on trips but my 930 died. Excellent build (tough) GREAT cameras, and perfect size. Worked on all networks...but alas...I have new phones...

Thanks,

Mr. V

The major differences between 'indie' and 'AAA' video games

There are two main styles of games developed across the gaming industry: "indie" and "AAA."
Despite the overwhelming library of titles available to gamers today, the vast majority of them can be surprisingly broken down into these two groups, based on their development. Both styles are very different, ranging from price to graphical design and file size. This article aims to make the differences between the two clear.
It's important to note, though, that this is a general overview of indie and AAA games. There are some outliers that exist within both groups. Also, console users don't have to worry about hardware limitations nearly as much as PC users, because games made for consoles are tailored for the unchanging hardware. PCs, however, are modular, and games on them have minimum and recommended requirements.

Abuse of new tech is inevitable, so what can Microsoft do about it?

Technology can enhance our lives in many ways. Sadly, its (inevitable) misuse can also do tremendous harm.
In and of itself, technology is neither good nor bad. It has no will nor moral guide save that which we, its makers, provide. Nuclear power, for instance, was developed with the promise of providing an unending energy source. Atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki Japan during World War II revealed other ways in which man is inclined to harness and deploy nuclear power. Modern threats from North Korea remind us that its harmful uses aren't reserved to the pages of history.

Wherever we apply our intellect to advance technology, our baser nature inevitably perverts its use toward harming humanity. Rather than confining our knowledge of biology and chemistry to the development of medicines and treatments for illnesses, we devote energy and resources to producing biological and chemical weapons. The morbid list goes on.

As Microsoft and other companies pursue new technologies that have the potential to profoundly affect humanity, like quantum computing, AI-driven surveillance and ambient computing (via always-connected technology), the question isn't "Will this technology be misused?" It's what failsafes, systems of accountability and policies will we proactively enact to mitigate the impact of their inevitable abuse?

WTS: WTS: NuVision 8" Windows 10 Signature Edition Tablet

Fine (like-new) condition tablet. $50 + shipping.

Box was opened and tablet was set up and tested for a couple of days - device is flawless.

Why would I sell it? I got it as a gift, to upgrade from my 8" Dell Venue Pro (HD screen, lighter, newer CPU). But after getting it, I realized that the Venue came with full Office installed, which runs VBA scripts that I need. Replacing it with the Nuvision would require me to buy another Office license.

So here's a bargain for someone wanting a great small device for reading and tablet apps, as well as the ability to run full desktop Windows 10. A Windows fan will enjoy this device!
