Don't buy an Ethernet switch with too many or too few ports for your needs

Best answer: Ethernet switches are generally available in a variety of sizes with a varying number of ports. How many you need depends on the number of wired devices you'd like to connect, as well as how much you're willing to spend on a switch, whether managed or unmanaged.
