Help sell me on moving to Spotify for my streaming music needs

Hello Everyone.

Okay, long story short, I have my own personal music collection, all in OneDrive, that I have curated over a great many years but I have decided to give Spotify a try. The thing is, I always read and see everyone else using it but, currently, I am not entirely sold on it. So my question to you all is, what is the benefit of Spotify over my own personal music collection?

Immediately I see that Spotify doesn't have everything that I have in terms of songs and albums, but what it does have is higher quality in terms of bitrate. It's also more convenient to just fire up Spotify and start listening to music. However, I find it strange that in the Spotify desktop app you can add local files to it (so I can add my own collection inside Spotify basically). But why do I need to do this if the idea of having Spotify is to just use that as my one source of music? It seems weird to me.

Feedback and thoughts is most welcomed - why do you use Spotify?
