received a phone call from windows stating windows being cancelled I believe this to be a scam call

was told that account had been compromised and that someone was sending out fake emails from my account. I think that this is a con to get me to switch on my laptop so they can talk me through getting this sorted. Thought you should know someone is making these claims, I cannot give a phone number as it was withheld
