Sleep (detected) - I'm not wearing my Band2!

Has anyone experienced their Band2 recording sleep when you aren't actually wearing your Band to bed?

In Microsoft Health... err Band app, it will say "Sleep (detected)", rather than the normal "Sleep" from when you wear the Band and activate Sleep mode. I had stopped wearing my Band to bed and using sleep mode many months ago after learning of the strap tearing issues.

I just noticed that my Band2 recorded last night's sleep, including heart rate, and I wasn't wearing my band. It was sitting on the table next to the bed.

This happened to me back on December 22nd, now that it's happened again, I'm mystified and curious to figure this out. It can't be like the heartrate sensor is projecting onto my head from two and a half feet away and managing to read my heart rate???
