Why do people feel like they have a right to shove Android and iOS down our throats?

I mean, it's just insulting. What I have on my smartphone should be up to me. Why do so many people have to attack me for refusing to use iOS or Android? I never consented to my choice of smartphone being a democratic decision, but I really never expected the amount of flack I would be taking from the people who use those two, or how they'd gang up on me. Sometimes I feel like it was easier not to have a smartphone at all, than to deal with the way people react when they notice I have a Windows Phone.
