Lumia 730 have issue that photos comes back after deleting.
I am using latest update of windows phone 10. When ever I am deleting the pictures, they comes back after few seconds. Also screenshot pictures not showing in photos app. Though all screenshot pictures are showing in file manager.

Battery Drainage ,Help Needed
Battery is draining very fast for the past few days.Last week once I had gone to sleep after charging phone to 100 % and woke up to find phone switched off.On switching it on I found 5% charge remaining and a critical battery level notification.Wifi & data were off ,only location was on like other days.This is the first time this is happening. Now again for past two days battery is draining more than usual.I checked Battery Usage By Apps and last week and now too I find Windows Default Lock Screen the one & only culprit - consuming >80% battery,that also 0% background usage.I had set it to 'Managed by Windows' in Battery Saver.I am a light to moderate user & battery lasts the full day for me normally.Phone is Lumia 535DS.What should I do ? Any suggestions ?

Windows 10 Phone People App Search - TOO SLOW?

I have a Lumia 930 & I am on the Fast Ring of Insiders. Going to get a Lumia 950 soon & I am MS Fan.
When I try to call someone by going to the Phone-->Go to Contacts Lists-->Search for a name, it takes a few seconds to load with the results, I mean its not that instant. Its not the same case with other OS's and even 8.1 was good(Correct me if I am wrong)
I am a Developer and something like this is not very promising which I believe is the most obvious thing/requirement(If its happening to everyone).
And I kind of like a Full Photo of the Contact when someone is calling and when it is answered, it can be round or smaller one which is now but just my thought as it might look good when the image of the contact is displayed when its ringing/calling(My Thought)

Kik push notifications not working since 10th anniversary update
Anyone else having this issue? Some contacts I get notifications for but for most I don't. Reinstalling the app sometimes works but it just goes back to having issues. It is set to receive notifications but it just doesn't show it via push.

I am getting an error 0x8007005
I am at a conference and for the last several days, I have used OneNote on my Surface 3 to take notes and pictures. I am current at the conference and tried to access OneNote and I got the error message 0x8007005 and it won't let me access my notes. To say that I am frustrated is an understatement. I need access to these notes for my work as I need to report back.
I tried access OneNote by pressing the windows icon and then pressing OneNote. I have also tried to access it using Cortana.
I have restarted my computer several times and shut it down completely twice and I still get the same error message. Please tell me how I can get access to my notes.

How to take Backup in Window Laptop
I have bought Sony Vaio Laptop with Licence version Windows 8.
Then after every update It is running with Windows 10.
Due to virus or other problem - Laptop got slower.
Computer experts told to do format Laptop but doesn't know how to reinstall windows 10.
After format and reinstall Laptop will run on Windows 8 and not 10 ? ( I get done format 2 times in past and all update lost and original version at the time of purchase is running)
As today we can not update Version 10 from Version 8 due to expiry of offer.

Why there is slow charging in Lumia 535 with original Microsoft Charger ??
I have bought Lumia 535 in January 2015, After well going for 10 to 12 month, Charging with original Microsoft Charger has been slower. It hardly charged 10 to 15% per hour.

Lumia 820 bricked. Please help
I tried to upgrade 820 to windows 10 and used windows phone internal 1.2 to unlock bootloader as per instruction in some forum. Now that phone is dead and windows 10 Pc does not identify the phone and gives unknown USB deviCe error. How do I get it back to work. Tried all steps from various forums.

Windows 10 mobile: Biggest disappointment in my Microsoft-Life
Hello everybody,
last Christmas I bought me a Lumia 550 with Windows 10 mobile preinstalled. I have used it till now. But there are so many flaws, that I don't know where to start. Does Microsoft know that it is offending their last hardcore fans? And I'm using more or less the standard apps.
Calender: My calender is completed nuts. Some birthdays are not showing. I'm German, but some birthdays are shown as i.e. "John's birthday" and the next one in German spelling "Johns Geburtstag".
Calender: After the last update other apps weren't able to save dates into the calender. I had to change the data privacy protection to "off", then to "on" again to get back on the track.
Contacts: After the last update all photos were gone. If I get a texto from my husband there are now two threads. Why? I don't know.
Contacts: Some birthdays are changing without my influence! Some birthdays have completely disappeared.
Location/tracking: Nevertheless I have disable "location" the location symbol is being shown from time to time.
Store: It's so so lame.
Photos: My Photo app is linked to Onedrive. Sometimes I delete pictures on the phone. They seem to be deleted, but after some hours they show up again.
At the moment I wouldn't buy a Windows phone again. Why does Microsoft do such a bad job? Why?

Windows 10 mobile update, all apps including phone, messaging even the store are pending?
Hey everyone, I updated my phone (Lumia 640 LTE) to windows 10 yesterday with the help of the upgrade advisor. It took awhile but it finally updated and I noticed that every single app I had was pending. Some of them were accessible again yesterday but two things happened
1) I dropped my phone and the battery came out, promptly turned it back on
2) Wi-Fi crashed in the night
In the morning I noticed they were still pending and thought it was the Wi-Fi, but I came back from school and they still haven't updated even though the Wi-Fi was on. However my phone was not charging during this period. I need help because even the phone app isn't functioning.

Wifi Calling. How exactly does ATT prevent us from using this?
If the phone itself supports it, what exactly does ATT do to prevent us from using it? I'm mostly asking from a technical standpoint. Seems to me they would have to do something specific to block this feature based on the device you have.

After an initial early access for lucky, lucky people, the Battlefield 1 open beta is now available to all on both PC and Xbox One.
In a change to the ever present trend of pushing shooters further and further into the future, Battlefield 1 dives into history and even lets you fight on horseback. The open beta gives us a quick glimpse at the multiplayer game coming later this year, and a mode that's sure to be super popular.
To get it on the Xbox One head into the store section on your console and look in "Demos." PC players will need to download EA's Origin application to get going.

Gears of War 4's Horde 3.0 and Arms Race modes to be demoed at PAX West
Microsoft has announced it will be showing off the Horde 3.0 mode for the Xbox One and Windows 10 sci-fi shooter Gears of War 4 at Seattle's PAX West gaming event on Sept. 2-5. It will also be showing an all new Versus multiplayer mode called Arms Race at PAX West.

Not able to get Windows 10 notifications on my Android phone with the 1607 Cortana
I'm still trying to sync Windows 10 1607 notifications from my PC to my Android phone. They will not sync, even though "Get notifications from this PC on my phone" enabled on my PC's Cortana. In reply to the last member who helped me, I have the latest Cortana app on my Android phone and I am in the U.S. so Cortana is supported. I also have the same Microsoft account tied to both devices. I am still only able to get notifications from my phone to my PC. Is this a feature only for Windows 10 Mobile supported phones?

Hi,
Anybody have any idea how to get the Photo's live tile to work on the Lumia 950?
The Favorites folder is under the Albums tab, and has 7 photos in it, but the live tile just ignores them. Does the "Favorites" folder have to be somewhere else on the phone? have?

1080p60/1440p Youtube apps?
Are there any apps that can run on W10M Anniversary Update and play 1080p, 1080p60, 1440p and 1440p60 content?
On my L820 on W10 TH2 I could play 720p60 and 1080p30 content on YT using Tubecast. Now, I'm not capable of even that with my new Lumia 950 XL on W10M RS1.
Any suggestions?

No notifications and apps not appearing in notifications + actions- Nokia Lumia 920 windows 8.1
A few apps, chiefly textnow and kik, suddenly stopped sending me push notifications, it does not appear on the tile and doesn't inform me until I've opened the app.
I uninstalled and reinstalled them both twice, neither reappeared in the Notifications + Actions section in Settings with messages being sent to them.
I soft resetted, 3 times then did a factory reset twice, first with back-up, the second time with clean slate. Reinstalling twice, with each soft and factory reset...
-nothing is restricted in data sense
-I'd never looked in the battery saving option before, but it does not have the run in background slider that facebook does.
I've ran these apps for over a year now and have had no issue with either until today.
As I am writing this, neither text now nor facebook messenger will load now!
Please help!!

Uber app for W8.1 and w10
Is anybody facing a problem with their Uber app for W8.1? I have Lumia 520 and Uber seems to work fine as long as I have cash in Paytm. And that too I can't seem to shift between cash or Paytm. Uber works only with Paytm.
But the only problem I'm facing is adding the location name in Uber App. Finding a location name in Uber app for Android phones is outstanding. Does anybody tried Uber App for W10? Where you able to get the location you type in correctly?
My issue is, when I type in a location name, it shows places outside the country I am currently situated in. I checked my phone language, region, etc., and all seems right. Is Uber app for W8.1 updated?

Staining on White 950 XL?
Hey guys,
Can any of you who own a white XL confirm any staining on the upper or lower corners of the phone? I have yellowish stains on the corners which is interesting because I never hold the phone up there. More interestingly, there's none on the bottom.

Imo, he's done a decent job. Kept shareholders happy/streamlining the windows vision and really pushing for his "cloud first" motto.
The only frontier he hasn't been able to master is the mobile world. However he has tried and has consistently reiterated his support for it.
2017 is supposed to be the big mobile push, but we have heard that before in 2014/2015, and then the shocking news came in 2016 that everything concerning mobile would be pushed back to 2017.
In other words, we've been waiting for that "coming soon" promise for quite some time :confused:

Edge freezing (webpage not responding) since the last cumulative update
After the anniversary update there were a couple of cumulative updates and now Edge is freezing a lot ("want to recover webpage? " warning). Anyone else experiencing this? Is there a solution?

I'm eager to jump into the Home AUtomation area. Right now leaning towards Wink and Philips hue.
But neither of them have a windows 10 based program.
What are the alternatives? And please give as best of a review of the software as you can from first hand experience.
Or should I scrap my idea and go with Samsung Smartthings?
Part of what is also motivating me, would be a Ring doorbell and cameras, as well as a Kidde smoke alarm that integrates into such a system. HOme depot used to sell a combination smoke alarm from Kidde, that worked with Wink out of the box.

When I upgraded to Windows 10 I ended up with only 1 account and that is My Name set up as
When I upgraded to Window 10 I ended up with only 1 Account and this is MY NAME which has been set-up as "Local Account" & "Administrator". What do I have to do in order to end up with 2 Accounts. One as MY NAME - "Local Account", and One as MY NAME-"Administrator". This change is necessary in order for Quicken to run properly. Quicken has informed me that I will not run correctly when I am signed in as "Administrator".

My uwp calendar doesn't show up birthdays of my contacts on the uwp contacts. I have to say that this issue occurs after the anniversary update(before it worked) and I didn't change anything. I have already google this issue but I didn't find anything .

As of today, it will not load. I've run the App Troubleshooter, uninstalled & reinstalled the app and it refuses to load...just sits there spinning it's wheels.

I'm using build 14393.103, I don't know if the OS update has anything with that, but WC it has not been updated for a while (using Release Preview ring). I've been reporting to Microsoft for months that Windows Camera description in Store claims that both Lumias 640 and 640 XL as capable of taking RAW photos, but the option didn't existed. Now, it appeared, but it's greyed out. Anyone noticed this too?

Recently I've bought Surface Book. Few days ago I've realized strange issue with front side of it. Here are two photos below: on one the screen is cleaned by microfiber, while on another one I've stained it by using my finger. It is viewed the area with wet dot near dynamic. If I clean it by microfiber, this area completely disappears. It doesn't look like ordinary area with wet trace from oiled finger. What is it?

cortana worked in offline
Hai....I am a satisfied user of lumia 830. when updation of windows10 came,i upgraded. and recently i checked cortana. it works properly without net connection. only calling works. when i ask to call somebody, cortana calls. and i became very happy. after one week, as i did not REBOOT phone,i rebooted it. but now it dosent work. is there any possibility for previous condition?

Not enough internal memory to download updates
My phone wanted to downlaod updates to its 8GB internal memory, so I bought a 16GB expansion card. Transferred over all the apps i could do, bank ,facebook, etc.
However I got an update yesterday, and it could not install it as it said I do not have enough internal memory, so went into the memory and tried to move the apps, however as they are ALL Microsoft apps it won't let me move or uninstall any of them! So I cleared all my photos and maps, but still no joy. The apps which are taking up all the space are Microsoft apps, like x box!! I don't want this but cannot uninstall or move it.
Is there a larger internal memory I can get? or is there away to remove these annoying apps (x box) and free up some space?

Yellow Tint on Brand New 950
Hi guys! I just received my Dual-Sim 950 from the Windows Central giveaway that I won recently, and had finished setting it up (updated software, firmware, apps, etc.). The wait was long but definitely worth it :D
But anyway, I'm having a problem with the screen, I think. I've noticed that while the screen is great, it has a slight yellowish tint to it. Looking at white backgrounds, I could see that it was a bit yellowish. Gray colors look a bit washed out (very slightly, but it's there). Not sure if the screen is faulty, or maybe my eyes are too used to my previous phone, the 830's display's color scheme that my eyes are now still adjusting to the display? rofl
But I knew the latter was almost too impossible. So I went to my local shopping mall and compared my phone with one of the 950s on display in a Microsoft store. Turns out my 950's screen does have a bit of a yellow tint to it. Not so much that it distorts the color completely, though.
So now I'm wondering. Is this due to manufacture problem, or maybe because the AMOLED screen is acting up? If the latter is true, then is there anyway to fix this AMOLED screen issue? I know for a fact that AMOLED screen burn-ins can be reduced by viewing white background or something, so I wonder if any of you knows of a way to fix this yellowish tint?

can't download or update apps
I have Lumia 640 with windows 10 version 1511. I can't update or install any app from store. Its showing pending/working/starting state. My internet connection is working fine. On top of this, I can't even download the latest windows update. Its stuck at "downloading 0%".
please don't suggest me to do a soft reset,as I have already done it a couple of times!

Lumia 830 Camera Problem
Hi, this is my first post in this forums. I have a Lumia 830 running windows 10 anniversary update. 4 months in (at that time it was running W8.1 update 1), the main camera stopped working. It was in warranty so I had the camera module replaced. Now 2 weeks ago, the problem resurfaced.
It started with the main camera not starting up and the small square in the centre consistently blinking. I reset the phone using windows device recovery tool but it didn't work. I decided to go back to the care center, checked the camera once again and it was working again. So I guess it is not a hardware fault. Then a few days later, it again stopped working and then started working a few hours later.
Overall, the camera app has 3 different stages:
1. Where the centre square keeps blinking and the camera doesn't start up. Turning on the flashlight freezes the phone.
2. A brown, noisy screen like a TV screen with no signal (except for the change in colour).
3. When the camera is working properly.
Can anyone please help out?

Lumia 640XL Bricked - BitLock msg - NO USB
Hi everyone!
I need some help from you guys... I have a Lumia 640XL (W10).
Recently, i tried to turn my phone on, and the bitlock message appeared, and i can't get rid of it.
The problem is i can't solve it via USB recovery tool because the USB port is not working for some reason, it is probably broken.
The question is: Can i factory reset it somehow without USB ?
I need some help from you guys... I have a Lumia 640XL (W10).

my surface book not going to sleep and I have windows 10

W10M PDF Printing Options
way back in 2015, MS stated that native printing would be supported with W10M and only work with UWP apps.
Looking specifically to print PDFs (normally from Edge) as I am not seeing with build .103 any way to print from Edge browser.
saving the PDF locally, I can open from Edge to view the PDF and I have XODO Docs intalled but neither let you print the PDF.
I have been using PrintHand application to print items but this app is old and for some reason, you cannot get to local content to print it to a wifi connected printer (only cloud saved docs, which comes in handy sometimes, other times is a pain in the backside to have to save content to OneDrive JUST to print it from the phone).
I do have an HP printer and have the ePrint function setup but that does not always work correctly.
any suggestions?

Official Facebook App CRASHES so bad
I had my lumia 640xl and lumia 735 win10 anniversary update. I already install official facebook app, but this app is really screwed up. Previously i install the beta version, it always crashes and make my phone restart, and the final version still had the same problem. Meanwhile facebook from microsoft in windows 10 was slow but still not crashes and now not even available anymore.
In WP8.1 facebook app was really smooth, and fluent and it is acceptable. As the most used social media apps, I dont understand why win10 mobile just let this issue happen.

How long does Backup assistant Plus take to restore contacts?
I used Backup assistant on my Nokia 822 before I had to do a factory reset on the phone. I have updated the Backup Assistant app and it claims it is restoring my contacts but an hour later I don't see any. It also tells me it can't restore my SMS messages. Is there anything that can be done to make that work?

Using a lumia 1520. Considering an upgrade but unsure of the state of windows 10 mobile.
My trusty Nokia Lumia 1520 has served me well since launch. But now, with a cracked screen and a dying battery I am in need of an upgrade. I see prices of the Lumia 950 xl dropping and I am wondering if the OS is still viable? And even if it is, would be be best to get this model or an alternative? Or even wait for the fabled Surface Phone?

Restoring initial band functionality
This is most likely a simple issue. My band 2 strap broke and I returned it and got a replacement...great.
I thought I restored all of the original tiles and settings, but something is missing. On my first one, when the phone (950xl) rang and when people texted me, I would get "feedback". Also, when news alerts and, for some strange reason, one of my clients emailing me. (just one, not his associates). I can still view email, but no "feedback".
Now, however, email gives me feedback. All email from all accounts, and it's annoying. I don't remember where the setting is to fine tune the feedback on the band.
Any thoughts?

Outlook account broke down ?
Hello,
I'm using lumia 1320, build 10586.545 . Recently i've run into a problem with my battery, I guess it broke down since it drains from 100% to 9% just in a few minutes of web browsing.
In one night, i think the phone was doing some backup to the cloud, and the battery drained, so now my phone's stucked at
August 8. Sometimes, it shows 0x8009002d, I have to reboot the phone to get it on, however all settings are old dated, cannot access People Hub, SMS, mail outlook apps shows Outlook account settings are old-dated => click on Fix => doens't do anything.
It seems outlook app is the main culprit as I've seen some guys on win 10 PC also have that error with Outlook (0x8009002d). I can install apps, except Outlook and Mail app, it will reboot the phone immediately and restore old settings. On mobile, there's no tool to fix it.
go to settings>accounts> your email and accounts > Add an account to Email, calendar, contacts => fail for all options (add outlook mail, gmail...same error) just like other guys on Win 10 PC http://ift.tt/2c96smW

- soft reset, hard reset (both on about/reset or Power+volumn down> show exclamation mark> volumn up down power down...) => no change.
- get into Store app > ask for the password > enter => access the app fine. Also, access Onedrive app fine with right data. (still mail app shows the Outlook old-dated settings)

Then, try to log into Microsoft oulook account=> devices=> find my phone => locates the phone correctly, Ring the phone works just fine, Lock the phone > reenter the lock pin passcode > work awesome.
Reboot the phone, everything goes back like above steps, messed up account password, cannot access People hub, sms... and sometimes show 0x8009002d
- redo everything in the above to make sure Onedrive/store app can understand the Microsoft password, open Windows Device Recovery tool (latest version 3.9.20701, i reinstall on 3 different pcs to try this method), Click to reinstall the software > continue > download package > Switching the device to flash Mode > Operation ended with failure
Reboot, click again, it goes another round like that.
- redo the above steps, get into the Outlook account on PC, remove the phone on both store and others... go to phone settings > uncheck sync settings, and retry Windows recovery tool to resintall software > nothing changes.
Now I'm stucked, my phone is a brick, cannot use SMS, people hub, outlook mail..
It automatically gets the error "Windows phone error code: 0x8009002d. you have to reboot..." on the lockscreen, so I have to reboot no less than 20 times per day to get pass that error.

Win 10 backup skipping files that have been moved or renamed
I'm worried about the reliability of the new Windows 10 backup. I have been creating images from scanning software. Then, I will rename the files and sometimes move them into different sub-folder's as I'm organizing them. I checked the backup the last few days and none of these updates are reflected in the backup. The location is on OneDrive and an external HD (Seagate 1Tb) is being used. I tried everything. Turning on/off File History, even deleting the main folder on the backup hoping it would just pick it up again. To no avail. I probably have to hard-delete the whole backup and start over. But if this is the case, I have lost faith in the utility itself and would be forced to purchase a 3rd party produce (don't want to do this). Hope this is something easy and I can use the Windows 10 version.

I recently upgraded my Lumia 830 to Windows 10 and have noticed a few changes that are not good. I have build 10.0.14393.67. Not insider preview.
2 major issues.
1) I use a third party GPS, Navigon, and rely on this. When using the phone to search for an address there is an option to map it, when clicking on this option the phone will open the GPS app. In Windows version 7 and 8 and 8.1 you were able to choose the default app for this the first time you used it, then it would always use the default app. I chose Navigon and it worked great. In Windows 10 you no longer have the option to choose a default app and the browser will automatically open Windows Maps. So the only way I can use Navigon is by adding the address to my contacts first, or manually input the address I just found while driving (pulled over of course) into Navigon, (State, City, Street Name, Street Number) not very convenient.
2) When using the GPS if you are synced to Bluetooth for hands free phone calls you have to have your car stereo in Bluetooth mode to hear the GPS voice. So unless you want silence you have your phone streaming music over the Bluetooth. I have over 8000 songs on my phone so I always stream from my own library. When using Zune and Xbox Music the music would pause when the GPS would speak directions, now with Groove Music when the GPS speaks the music still plays, it makes it very very hard to hear the directions. I know that this is Groove Music and not Navigon because in windows 8 and 8.1 Mix Radio and other 3rd party music players would do to the same thing and I had to makes sure not to use one of them if I knew I would be using the GPS.
One of the best features of Navigon is being able to pin directions to your home screen ahead of time, I will be traveling to California in November an anticipated pinning at least 6 destinations to my home screen, LAX, Hotel, Disneyland, Universal Studios, San Diego Zoo, Mission Beach, etc. Now I do not know what to do.
Because of Windows 10/Groove Music the Navigon app is no longer usable and it was an expensive app. Being on my 3rd Windows phone (Focus, 820, 830) and a strong supporter of the whole Windows eco system this is very frustrating and I know this is silly but I also feel a little betrayed.

Whenever I open lock. Then on Task manager screen.photos app open. I close it every time. But still open.
Solution: Soft reset. But sometimes it happens.

Office on Continuum
I tried using Microsoft Word today through continuum on 950. I noticed that typing was highly lagging in a large 50 page document with tables in it. I am running the latest preview release. Anyone noticed lag in typing using the MS Display dock? In a new document without tables, typing seemed fast enough.

I'm still using Andrew Tobias' "Managing Your Money" Version 12 on an older SONY laptop with Millennium and I'm starting to have problems with the older laptop. I would like to transfer the program to a newer SONY laptop with Windows 7.

Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update Issues
Hopefully someone can help me out here.
I have a Lumia 640 and just received the anniversary update last night.
Today I have these issues:
1) My Edge Browser is now showing everything in larger font. Some pages won't even fit the screen correctly. The font is currently 'medium'. I tried to change it to small and nothing changed. I also tried to change it to 'extra large' and nothing changed. Apparently, something is not working in Edge and it makes it pretty useless.
2) My alarm will not play at loud sound. I have notifications and media all the way up and no matter what sound or ringtone I use, it is very faint. It makes the alarm pretty risky to use.
3) On my notifications I now have 4 things that I have no idea what they are. They are listed below:

Exchange account not syncing after AU!
Was excited to get the anniversary update for my At&t 950, but after the install, I could no longer sync my exchange account. Before the update, it worked perfectly, now I'm getting this error message "This device doesn't meet the security requirements set by your email administrator" Does anyone know what's going on? I've tried soft/hard resets, nothing has worked.

Win 10 Mobile Anniversary Update problems
I use Lumia 950, dual sim. The following behavior showed up after I upgraded to Win 10 Mobile, Anniversary Update
* after charging the 950 over night, it *hangs*, and I need to remove the battery to reset it
* after the nightly charge, I can key in the pin code, but then nothing more happens -- there is no sound when I enter the pin code, but the bullets appear. But then... nothing. After a while, the display darkens, but nothing else.... it hangs (as stated in bullet 1...)
* this happens whether I charge it by the Nokia/Lumia QI charger, or the MS USB-C charger. It happens whether Windows Hello is enabled or disabled.
* When I have removed the battery and re-inserted it, it starts as normal and seemingly works as before.
* It is kind of frustrating to have to open the 950, remove the battery, and reinsert the battery, etc. every morning..
Anyone else with this experience?

Soon to be new owner
Well, I pulled the trigger on the Surface Book.
I've been contemplating this for a very long time, heck, when they rolled this out last year I wanted one, but then reports trickled in about the issues.
Anyways fast forward to 2016 and my 2012 rMBP isn't up to snuff, for extended usage (The battery is finally giving out), and my SP3 has had its share of wifi issues that I don't feel confident about it on my next trip.
I opted for the base model, i5/8gb/128GB of storage. I'm a bit hesitant about the 128GB but I think it will be good. Its purpose as a secondary machine and not for all of my heavy lifting.
Office apps, some temporary image storage (until I get back hope to off load them), remote access to my work network and note taking.
The thing that drove me to get this over the weekend was MS' promotion. I save a lot of money because of the back to school pricing and promotion to get the accidental coverage and a year of Office for 50 bucks.
Thanks to 30 day return policy, I can put the laptop through its paces and see if its a good fit for me or not.

Lumia 950: Incoming calls from similar numbers shown as same contact name
I have 2 contacts with very similar phone numbers. For example:
Person1: 031 111 111
Person2: 041 111 111
When I get the call from Person2, my phone displays the name of Person1. When Person1 is calling me, the displayed name is OK.
So, I assume that the system is checking the phone numbers from right to left and because the numbers are very similar from the end it links the number with the first person on my contact list.
I've notice this problem since the last updates.
Can anyone help me with this issue because it's getting very annoying.

Can you really game on a Surface Book? Let's find out!
While the Surface Book isn't designed or marketed as a gaming machine, Microsoft couldn't resist demonstrating its graphical chops with Gears of War at its reveal.
I do the vast majority of my gaming on Xbox One, but with Xbox Play Anywhere on the horizon, I find myself increasingly interested in laptop gaming. And at least for now, Surface Book gaming.

New Items in the Background Setting that's confusing me
The new Anniversary Update is showing new items in the Background options that weren't present in version 1511.
It's confusing me and I'm not sure if it's a good idea to not allow them to run in the background.
You'll find these in Settings > Privacy > Background Apps
If they were hidden from sight before, why show them now? LOL

Surface Pro 4, a very expensive frustation
I ask myself, do people at Microsoft use their own products? Or they just use the Surfaces for the conferences and after that they go back running back to their MBP?
It really seams like the second one, yeah I understand that from time to time something might bug down and you might even need to restart the system. But having to restart such a device 3 times in a day due bugs that are around since the beginning of the ages is unacceptable.
Even after clean installing Windows 10 AU the system can turn out to be unusable.
Before someone puts the blame in other software, I've almost nothing installed on my surface, and nothing else starts up with Windows other than Defender and OneDrive, I like to keep things pretty clean.
Almost all problems are linked to Windows freaking out after resuming it from sleep / hibernation.
I often leave Edge and Mail open always, because I like to keep my tabs and I use Mail a lot.
Edge doesn't like waking up from hibernation, it will freeze, it will get slow and sometimes it won't even close, forcing me to close the process.
Switch from landscape to vertical while Windows Hello is taking ages to turn the camera on? More often than not the graphics will freak out and 1/3 of the screen will be kept in landscape while the rest will turn. Fix? Restart. Very strange thing, never saw something like this, not even in the cheapest Chinese Android tablet I've seen things like this.
Groove music, that one is funny, how to kill the Surface battery in 1 hour? Well, have some Music at the local OneDrive Music folder, and play it with Groove, for decoding a 320Kbps MP3 Groove would use more than 50% of the power of a dualcore I7 processor, very impressive.
Now sure after months of agony with Groove, they solved the problem by avoiding the CPU to speed up and get hot, but this doesn't mean that Groove is fixed, now when I open Groove, I can't make some steaks on the back of my surface anymore, but I can't work on it either because the whole systems slows down, it seams like I'm exporting something in Premiere, but no, and people complained about iTunes needing resources.
Now as it is, the SP4 is pretty unusable as a mobile computer, that goes to sleep and resumes many times a day while keeping apps open. I understand the decision to hibernate the machine after 2h of inactivity, makes sense for the battery and I'm able to accept the longer wait from time to time, but when resuming from sleep, even with its i7, 8GB of ram and super fast SSD, the SP4 is everything but instant on resuming. Even if I would not use Windows Hello that more often than not bugs down, it will take the device annoying seconds before it responds to my command of dismissing the lock screen.
Anyone with problems and frustrations like mine? You found a solution for any of those problems?
I'm really thinking of giving up the bigger screen and the flexibility of Windows for a Pixel C, that will at least, always work when needed.

I had a drive fail in my Storage Spaces. Unfortunately i have not been able to get this resolved or remove the failed drive.
The fail drive when its connected to the computer clicks, is unreadable, and causes storage spaces in the control panel to crash and not open. So i am trying to remove the bad drive from the simple virtual disk but i just cant. The drive is currently disconnected and i get the following issues in power shell:

Remote Notification system for when my router changes the WAN IP
Is there a way to get a notification, something like an email to self or something, that alerts me when my modem/router changes the IP it gets from the ISP?
Any ideas on how to implement this? Might be a feature in the router, but I don't recall seeing it.

Audio for video w/950 xl
Hi All,
I checked the microphone setting and the camera app is not in there. I have no audio when I 'film' a short/long video with the 950 XL. Image is gorgeous on any size screen and using the display device that came with the 950 is a snap.

What's the worst punishment your phone has taken and survived?
Some years back, my brother and his schoolmates decided on a weird competition, to see whose phone could be thrown the furthest and still survive. Needless to say, my brothers phone survived a 3 storey fall to hard earth - it was some old ZTE basic phone.
So what's the worst punishment that your phone went through and survived?
It has to be a smartphone, and by surviving I mean you can still make calls and send sms using it

Problem Backing Up Nokia 635 to the Cloud
I have taken all of the steps to back up my app content to my one drive. However, the content saves up to 96% followed by the error message, "There was a problem backing up your settings. Try again later." I've tried several times but the outcome is the same. Does anyone have the solution?

Dust affinity for phone screens
Every time I take out my phone from my pocket, there's a lot of dust particles stuck on it and I have to wipe it regularly. Are the phone screens made such that dust just adheres to it or is it to do with something else?
I've seen this with lumia 1020 (amoled screen) and lumia 540 (lcd screen)

Different coloured MS Band
Just about every photo I've seen of the band or the band 2 has a dark gray or black band which leads me to believe the band comes in one colour scheme only

How comfortable is it to sleep with the MS Band?
One of the features about the band is sleep tracking and I assume you have to wear it for it to work
How does it feel sleeping with it on your wrist? Comfortable or irritating but you get used it or you just stop using it after it gets too irritating? And does it move a lot? It has to stay in one position, right?
I don't have one nor am I ever going to get one (something to do with the high price and exclusive nature of it being in a few countries only) so I am hoping those with experience can share

Windows 10 forcing my PC into sleep mode after 2-3 minutes, how do I stop this?
I've done everything I can in the settings to keep this from happening. Sleep mode is entirely, 100%, disabled...and yet it keeps going into sleep mode after 2 or 3 minutes of inactivity. The worst part about it is that half the time when I wiggle my mouse to wake it back up I have to disconnect from my Wi-Fi and then connect to it again before the internet will work, otherwise it says no connection.
Does anyone know how to fix this? I've been searching for answers for like 6 or 7 months now when I first upgraded to windows 10 and the only sleep mode issues anybody seems to have is when it powers itself down while in sleep mode or it won't wake back up. I had this PC for over a year on windows 8.1 and never had this issue, but literally the day I upgraded to windows 10 it started happening and now several months later I finally got sick enough to ask for help again. Last time I asked for help on multiple forums I didn't get a single response, not even from the windows forum.
Does anyone know how to fix this? What happens to all the bands sent back because of broken straps or dead batteries?
There have been quite a number of people complaining about the band 2 and the strap breaking or the battery dying and then getting replacements.
What happens to all the bands exchanged for new ones? Are the straps refitted and sold again? Or are the parts recycled and used to make new bands? Same with the battery

Can't see sleep data or exercise data
I have a new replacement band, everything is sync'd and running. Except when I go into the health app and try to punch down into the sleep data, it just takes me back to my phone start screen. Same thing happens when I try to look at my exercise data. I can look at footsteps and calories burned without problem.

RAW mode in Lumia 650 using pro shot for W10M?
Pro shot for W10M has been launched. One can capture photos in RAW mode, as per app features stated. Although app has been temporarily taken off the store, Do you guys think it will be possible to click in RAW mode by Lumia 650 camera? Because it's a paid app and this feature will decide whether I'll buy the app or not.
