Cannot Record Video on Lumia 640

In trying to record a video I get an error message advising that I need more free space: I have in excess of a gig of free space. I rarely record videos so I'm not sure when problem started; I have recorded videos in the past without incident. If anyone is aware of a solution, excluding hard-reset, plz advise
